CNIDARIA

Sea anemones, corals and jellyfish can be seen in Yıldız Bay. The body forms of the cnidaria constitute of ectoderm and endoderm.

There is a jelly formation between these two layers. They have burning cells to feed. Thats why it can be dangerous to touch some species of jellyfish.

The only species that forms reefs in the Mediterranean like the coral reefs in the tropical seas. It is an important species producing carbonate and spreads vast areas and sometimes forms high formations.
As a result of antropogenic carbondioxide emissions, it dies as the living fauna disappears on it and naked structure can be seen as white. The phenomenon is called bleaching.
